Standard Features
"Standard Features" is sort of a misnomer as every guitar that John makes is somewhat unique. What remains constant within the different series is primarily the body size shape, and the general tonal qualities. Although standard may also imply, "normal or everyday" be assured that these "standard" features are high quality. For example John does not use Indian Rosewood for fretboards and bridges. Although a good choice for back and sides, it is not a great fretboard material. John found that Ebony is one of the best choices for fretboards and obtains high quality ebony for use on his guitars. Whether a "standard-featured" model or a "collector-series" show guitar, both guitars will get the same high quality ebony.
Standard Features include: Ebony Fingerboard and Bridge, Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany Neck with Laminates of maple, rosewood, ebony etc, Gotoh Tuning machines, Hardwood Bindings and Purfling (Top and Back), Back Stripe, Standard Rosette, Bone Nut and Saddle. John now includes a (Wood) Bound Headstock and Rear Headstock Veneer as s Standard Feature. Use the "Options" Menu for information regarding upgrade features
