Finishing Options

Following tradition, the standard finish applied to an Osthoff guitar is a clear gloss lacquer. For players who do not like the feel of a gloss finish on the neck, an optional satin finish applied to the neck is available. Other finishing options are available such as, shades, sunbursts or transparent colors. John has also been experimenting with some varnish finishes and when he has come up the "right" formula will offer them on the Vintage Series Instruments.
