The Slope Dread has a bigger bodied guitar which captures a warm, yet robust tone. It's large body produces a clear balanced sound with plenty of "oomph" in the bottom end without the 'thumpy' muddiness found in some dreadnoughts. It makes a dynamic rhythm guitar (if one solely wishes to do just that), but it offers so much more across the tonal spectrum, in it's great clarity and punch. This translates to a well-defined mid-range and very articulate trebles making it great flatpicker, yet still suitable for fingerstyle.

| John had put together a couple of 12-fret Slope Shouldered Dreadnoughts (Slope Dreads) as part of his Custom Series instruments. As the instruments have become more popular, John decided to focus on the design a little more and offer the guitars as part of his Dreadnought Series. After a few iterations, John has settled on a body shape and size allowing him to "know" the guitar. For the player that more interested in a traditional look, this guitar model will be offered as part of the Vintage Series |
